Default Hmm, where to start

Well I and my boyfriend are hoping to travel to Thailand this coming Christmas. So far we think we'd like to stay in the Hilton in Bangkok and spend a couple days in Bangkok, then head south to Phuket and Ko Samui, and also Ko Koa (?). We shall see. I hate to just ask for general advice or suggestions but I'm not sure where to start. We've been reading the Lonely Planet travel book for Thailand but its a bit overwhelming.

i am sure that you will find answers to many of your questions on this site. Just trawl through it is all goods reading and will whet your appetite for your coming holiday.
As you read it will also throw up questions that I am sure that the forum members will answer.
At that time of year you will be better off booking.
Lonely planet is okay, but for a varied and different view plus heaps and heaps of advice you can't beat here they are a friendly lot as well.

@Evaunitone - Jaxw17 is right, this site is a great place to start your research. Use the search features to narrow down your focus.

There really is a wealth of info here and online in general. LP's are great, but can weigh you down...and, honestly, in this digital age who needs the weight?

The rough itinerary you mapped out sounds fun!

Dont forget to consider 2 of the islands east of Bangkok closest one is called Koh Samet and its a great island approx 2 hours drive from BKK and the other is Koh Chang which is 4 hours from BKK. I live across from Koh Samet and its my favourite island.

Anyway just some suggestions for you.

Have a great trip Cheers mark
