Default Where shall I go next year?

I have had an absolute c*** day at work and dedicded that to cheer myself up I need to start thinking about next years holiday. It's also been raining like crazy and I am throughly fed up!!

So, Bangkok but where after that? We have been to Koh Samui and Krabi for beaches, done Northern Thailand, Kanchanaburi and a river cruise to see inland. We like to end with a beach but want to see some other sights before that.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Budget is middle to high end as we work hard and need to rely on things being ok when we get to our destinations. Sayng that however, I don't like being ripped off!!

Suggestions please.................!

Default Hua Hin or Phuket

Hi there,

What about Hua Hin ... check out the Hyatt Hotel. It's a very relaxed place, on a reasonable beach ... fantastic choice of restaurants and lovely train station. Excellent golf courses, couple of night markets. About 3 hours drive from Bangkok.

Also, you haven't mentioned Phuket. Have you been there yet? Lots of great hotels to choose from .. depends on what your budget is, and what you want ie .. quiet or shopping? There are couple of cheap airlines that fly there from Bangkok .. Air Asia and 1, 2, Go. From here you could visit Phi Phi, do the James Bond Island Canoe trip, Fantasea Show, Quad Bike Tour, Elephant Rehab Ctre etc.

I am sure others will come up with more suggestions, but these are two off the top of my head I thought of.

For beaches, you have visited the best area, you must be aware of that. You can take a plane frpm BKK to Trang Provence and visit the small beautiful islands out there, like Koh Hai. You can then go up to Phuket by boat, why not spend a few days first at Long beach at Koh Lanta.?

If you go back to Bkk, you could vist Ayuttaya, which is absolutely charming.

We are going every winter 5 weeks, and have done this last time. We also went to Cambodia, to visit Angkor. Spend 3 days there.

You can also back,to Thailand by the southern coast stay a bit in Cambodia and then come back by road and make a stop at Koh Chang., or any of the other beautiful islands there.

We are going this year to Sukothai after resting the first day at Phuket, then to Hua hin. But if you like beaches the above sugesions are better.
