Default to book or not to book?

Hi all,

My friend thinks we will get cheaper flights to Koh Samui upon arrival in Bangkok.(At 10:30pm) I am not sure. flights going for $100-ish one way at the moment on the bangkok airways site. 2785THB. Will we get a cheaper price if we book in Bangkok? Don't want to rock up and pay twice that I wont be a happy girl!

Thanks

From my experience it is no cheaper to book when you get there. You won't get a flight at 10.30 at night you will have to go out the day after. If you pre book you can choose the time and then you are also assured of a seat.
The prices have really hiked up. The other carrier is Thai but they won't be any cheaper as bangkok airways own the airport so they are not going to allow them to under cut.
My advice would be book on line. We have done this on a number of occasions.

Hi Lex,
Definately pre-book. Check out the Bangkok Airways website and look for promotional fares and if there is one available on the flight you want then book it as soon as possible as there will be limited seats at the lower cost option. The first and last flights of the day tend to be the cheapest.

For quick departures the price will be higher, simply because they can ask more.

So book in advance.
