Dear Friends,
What sort of clothings should we carry for our tour of Thailand in end January?
Apart from clothings what all stuff should we bring with us?
Thanks.

No need to bring much, perhaps one smart outfit and a couple of changes of casual clothes, and your swimming gear. Comfortable walking shoes. I usually have a light jacket as it gets cold in airports. Best travel light and if you need anything extra you can pick it up on your way, plenty of shops & stores around, good clothing prices in Thailand. The penny-pinching Aussies come up with shopping lists for the kids' clothes for the entire year, like they do in Bali. As for other stuff, I guess the usual, your toiletries and personal items, there again no need to carry bottles of shampoo and so on as everything's available. What else - camera, perhaps your notebook, that should do it.

The current trend these days is for airlines (especially budget)to charge for luggage which previously was included in the price. This prompted me to rethink what i take to Thailand and made me realise as BobMac said everything is available in Thailand. Shaving, shampoo, most toiletries I buy at the local 7/11 shop. Clothes are kept to a minimum and taken to the local laundry when needed. At 50b a kilo for laundry it doesnt exactly blow the budget. If you do need clothes Thailand is a haven of cheap shops of every variety.
I really think as long as ive got my ticket, passport, camera and money I could survive quite easily.
Enjoy

The others have pretty much covered it. Bring as little as possible, and pick things up along the way.
If you will be taking a lot of photos, do bring plenty of memory cards with you so you can snap away without worrying. One of the things I usually do is stop at either one of those “1 hr” photo shops, or an Internet Cafe, and burn copies of my photos to CD. I make two copies of each CD. I then keep one with me, and mail the other one home. That way if I were to loose or break the one CD, or the worst happens, and I loose my camera (forget it in a cab, or set it down at a market and walk away etc.) I still have my photos waiting for me when I arrive home.
Most of all, bring patience, good manners, and a smiling face, as they will go a long way

We want to buy swiming gears but the city I live in being very far from the sea there are very limited choice. Do you think we can buy these in Phuket as we will be arriving in Phuket straight from Delhi? Do the 7/11 shops stock them? BTW we will arrive on a Sunday. Will shops remain closed on Sunday?
And FBI yes we will for sure bring all that you have suggested, patience, manners & smile.
