You'd be better off going to Pattaya, to the best of my knowledge Patong doesn't have "adult shows" other than gay reviews. It's BKK & Pattaya that specialize in the live shows.

They had and I suppose still have A-Go-GO Bars in Patong. I think the Soi name is Soi Eric where the best known / most frequented is located, off the famous or perhaps infamous Soi Bangla, one soi up from and on the same side as Soi Crocodile (the kraktoy area). Sure I have been there (Soi Eric) before anyone asks; once with my girlfriend (who could not wait to leave, she said, but I think she was quite curious in reality). The experience of getting past all the very aggressive bar girls in that Soi is no fun though, so time your visit / attempt to get to the place when Soi Eric is full of customers. If you want to laugh, get a street seat at one of the bars directly opposite Soi Crocodile as well for a while, and watch the happless tourists who bought a "Perl of the Andaman" holiday from a brochure, or the guys that think these "girls" are "girls" and have gotten lucky! My best well meant advice though is "Look, but never be tempted to 'touch'", irresepective of whether they are real girls or not. Friends have woken up with guys or with all their money and jewelry gone (think spiked drinks). Nasty, nasty, nasty diseases which will ruin and shorten your life, people with no morality and even a burning desire to pass it on, plus often fake brand and terribly made Thai condoms really make any form of phyical indulgement a particularly stupid thing to do.

I've many fond memories of spending balmy evenings in the open-front bars in soi bangla watching the world go by. Yes, go-go bars in Patong, I've been to several - one I remember being the Sphinx Bar, that was a fun place. But when Kobe1972 asked about "adult entertainment" I thought he meant live shows, and I've never seen one in Patong, Pattaya & BKK yes, but I think Patong is kinda tame by comparison.

what a sewer. | It's a great pity Thailand ever encouraged the sex trade, they seem to think it's what everyone wants. But the reality is not many people do want to see screaming girls every night, trying to compete with all too loud music which reaches deafening heights.People who go to Thailand seeking sex are guilty of exploiting the economic situation, these guys are a joke. How could a young pretty girl possible fancy some of the old men we see them hanging around in bars? The men convince themselves the girls really fancy them and forget it's the money the girl are after. The Americans on leave from Vietnam started the whole thing off, they used to fly into Bangkok and spend money freely. This was the start of girls coming in to Bangkok having heard about the money available from going with the soldiers. These soldiers were young men with money in their pockets, and happy to spend some of it on the attractive Thai girls who poured in Bangkok.Unfortunately these days it's old men who turn up for sex not young men,it's about time this situation was stopped from happening.Little wonder we are not respected as westerners when we see the way these girls are abused. The whole business is a disgrace...men having genital surgery in order to make money as lady boys.I hope the Thai's stop this kind of trade sooner rather than later....I am not a prude but feel a massive injustice is happening here.Would the users of these girls and boys be happy knowing their son's and daughters were working in the sex trade.I can't imagine why watching a prostitute fire a ping pong ball out of her sexual organ is erotic. But still we get these pathetic enquiries about where can we watch an adult show etc etc.Why don't they just stay at home and do us all a favour.

I don't think it's fair or accurate to blame tourists for the Thai sex trade, nor to view all Thai sex workers (female & male) as victims. The sex trade flourishes quite nicely without any help from foreigners. The Thai men who go in for genital mutilation do so because they want to try and turn themselves into women, not so they can make money as prostitutes. In fact post-ops do not appeal to gay men.

I know you have superior knowlege on the subject Bob as you do live in Thailand,I can well imagine having a young Thai Lady looking after you is desirable to men.But according to documented evidence prostituion in Thailand became more prevailent with the influx of American soldiers on leave, prior to this Thailand didn't have a sex industry.I fail to see how exploiting Thai women and children for sex is going to help them in the end.If they could get decent paid jobs,I doubt these girls would choose a life of prostitution given all the risks involved from diseases etc.Gary Glitter is a prime example of what Thailand doesn't need.
