| | | Hotel in Bangkok and spa in Koh Samui?
Hello, a girlfriend and I are going in January to Thailand for 2 weeks, we are looking for a decent, clean, and preferably inexpensive hotel in Bangkok that wouldn't be too far from the nightlife? And a nice, also preferably inexpensive spa either in Bangkok or Koh Samui. I saw plenty on internet that are beautifull but still out of our budget, we would like the full 5 hour treatment (scub steam thai massage ect..) in a nice spa, something small and professional, not a luxury expensive pretentious place... Either Bangkok or Koh Samui, it's the same to us.
Thank you!

Can you give a price range for both - for now try the Mandarin Hotel on Rama IV its 3 star on some site 4 on others but at £15-20 per night for two with breakfast thrown in 3 good restraunts a few shops a beauty place and a swimming pool very good value - its close to pat pong , the night market and MBK plus the river is only a short distance away and all the stations for main line skytrain and underground close - plus I can reccommend where to eat shop locally etc etc

Go to Sawadee.com - Thailands leading tourism portal, Hotel reservation & travel guide.
And look at the hotels in Bangkok around the Sukumvit area.
sawadee is a great site and i have been booking rooms with them for some years now without a problem,it is also one of the best information sites that covers the whole of Thailand without directing you to hotels with every page change.
It is a Samui based site so will have plenty of info on samui too.
Have a look at their live cams on Samui and Bangkok.
Den.

Thank you! | I adore Orchid Spa in BKK--embassy area. It's a nice house tucked in on side street and the owner will take great care--they will set up a scrub, bath, massage, shower, etc--mani/pedi if desired--discount the whole thing and lunch if you want--just ask, they deliver. They even take credit cards and include service charge, but they still got gratuities from us. My husband (who is now hooked) still mentions that day...We did the spa as a "layover" between our Hua Hin drive
and the late departure back to Seoul. I've never felt so good getting on a plane....
