If you've dived in Indonesia then you will definitely be disappointed with Ko Chang I think. Thailand can't touch Indonesia in terms of variety and number of critters and corals. The best diving is probably around the Similians and the Surins but you're going at the wrong time.... risk of rough seas so visibility might not be great even if there are dive trips.

I was in the Surins in March ...picked a bad week even though the weather wasn't too bad. The visibility was very poor compared to places like Siladen/Bunaken and Pulau Weh in Indonesia. However we did see a 13m rorqual whale which I never saw in Indonesia .... it kindly hung around our snorkelling boat for about an hour one day.

Agree with Fio, just: even if the seas are rough, the visibility will still be ok, around 20 meters, 15 if you're unlucky.

Last highseason the diving was excellent, but for some reason the visibility was not good for quite some time.

Default Similan

Stevenl,

Can you recommend good dive operators that might venture out to the Similans? Thanks.
