Default JBR part 2 water loggged

The rain was not as bad as the night before but the sky was very grey and laden with rain.

We had a good nights sleep and went for the famous amari brekkie. Where to start there was everything to choose. Staff were looking apologetic about the rain as they do. They seem to take on the responsibility personally. We decided to walk along the beack Suze and cathryn were blown away with the beauty of the place. We ambled along and then went into the Ark bar for a coffee.
We decided that due to the weather it may be a good time to go to Tesco lotus to stock up on provisions. Cathryn decided to go back to bed and the 2 of us got a taxi for 200 bhat and off we went.
We priced up the wine astronomical as it always is. We bought water, beer, crisps etc
After a coffee there we went back to the room. I ventured out to the pool nearest us for a swim in the rain. I then went back to the room and had a nap.
We met up about 7 and set off down the road. Everything was still wet and there were bursts of rain. We went to will wait on the bend. Dave ordered chicken satay to start and got loads and loads. Suze had her first pad thai and fell in love with it.
It was too wet to go on the beach after so we went down the road and called into legends, henry africas and black jack then home to bed. The sun will shine tomorrow. Not really bothered about it shining as long as it stops raining for a bit. We are used at this time of year to it raining most days at around 3pm. Not this constant rain.

Dull and miserable was what we were met with in the morning and it rained all day on and off I can’t remember what we did really I think that I had 30 mins on a sun bed in the drizzle and a swim.
Not as wet at night so we headed along the road and went to the islander to eat. I am ashamed to say I had a fish finger buttie !!! could not think of anything else that I wanted. Suze had now set her self up as the pad thai taster for Samui and she ordered that.

We then decided to go on the beach. Suze and Cathryn went for a foot massage. We went down and La playa was shut the ark bar was banging. I realize now that I had started to become ill then as I had sent Cathryn a text to say the above but that I was going back to the room ‘cos I felt hot and sweaty.

Called at the 7/11 for some bits.

Will it be fine tomorrow.

It was fine enough to get on a sunbed on the beach after brekkie. Diane and Tony joined us they had moved into a suite for their last 4 nights and Suze and cathryn had moved into their room …..next to ours would you believe.

We had a good sun bathe and a few dips in the pool. Me and dave walked along the beach and I had a green curry and a beer. By 2pm the rain was torrential again and it was a walk back to the room again, and a nap.

Went back to will wait and enjoyed it just as much. This one seems to be better than the one further down the road. S and C went shopping and ended up in will wait for dinner. They then went off to do some more shopping and we went on the beach and met up with Diane and Tony. We had drinks in all the bars alonfg and we sent up a lantern for a friend of ours, Pat, she had died just a few weeks before we came away and she was only in her early 30’s.
We had a really good night like old times we have been on holiday with Diane and Tony lots and have had some good fun with them they are our oldest friends. I met Diane when I was 11 and on my first day at secondary school. Tony was my first boyfriend !

Quite a late night about 3. we had ended up in a bar nearer to the Amari on the beach where they were either all stoned or P===ed and were not serving anyone. We left tony and Diane there and they had 3 more drinks and they would only let them pay for 1.

Got a bit of sun today in between the rain bit of a non entity day. By this time I am starting to sound like bonnie tyler .
Arranged for the 6 of us to go down to Lamai tonight and eat at salathai. Got down there all wet all around. Went to down under bar it is good for people watching. Could not wait to round the corner to phais bar. We have spent a lot of time in there with phai and her German partner Norbert. First thing that I noticed is that they had changed the name……… not just changed the name phai and Norbert were gone. After enquiring found out that Phai had gone to Bangkok with new boyfriend and norbert had gone back to Germany. Things change on Samui quickly !

Had a few drinks and then headed back to chewing with the intention of hanging out round green mango. Had a drink in a couple of bars and then went into one called our bar across from Henry Africas. I don’t know if he was irish but he set himself up to be …..what a miserable b==ger the changes were 120 bt your having a laugh mate. Went across the road to Henry africas and paid 60.

Another day over. Next day was Diane and tonys last day.

Reasonable weather until about 3 and then really torrential rain, thunder and lightning. So wet that Dave went along to see them off and I stayed in the room I was feeling a bit rough by this time.

When the rain eased off we got a tuk down to tropical murphies and decides to eat there. The food was good although by this time I had started to lose my appitite. There was the most God awful singer on. He was loud and **** and totally spoiled the meal I could not wait to get out of there. We sauntered back dipping in and out of the handbag shops and I bought some ridiculous shoes for my Granddaughter Chloe with plastic heels. I was watching the young thai women dragging the elderly gentlemen in the bag shops, so funny.

We drank our way back to the Amari and bed we had hired a car for a couple of days from tomorrow. Will it rain……….

If it had been me I think I would have started the day with a one hour manicure and pedicure, followed by a one hour foot massage, followed by a two hour Thai massage followed by a two hour oil massage followed by an hour's facial followed by a lot of beer in a bar somewhere till it was time for bed!
