Thanks

Default Phuket is lovely

Well, if you want ot be bearchers the try Kata, Kata Noi or Karon! I must say the with the youngsters that you should stay out of Patong! Lot's of bars and you've a good chance to see me on a "Sortee on soi Bangla"

Cool Hi HJ

Once every two months me and a few buddies would sit in the bar (good bar it was too) opposite Soi Crocodile and watch the kraktoys hustle tourists who were dumb enough to have their picture taken with them. I am not sure whether that, the 8 year old kiddies walking along with their parents on their first night (after believing the brochure about Patong being the emerald of the Andaman) saying "What are those ladies doing daddy?", or the drunk guys latching onto one of the dancers or waitresses there (believing them to be girls) made us laugh the most.

Default Great for family Hols.

Dont let them scare you off Cameron, Phuket is a great place to take the family. If you want to get away from the "scene" as described in the previous posts, stay in Kata beach. Still plenty to do and see but the seedier side is diluted to the point of being almost non-exsistant unless you go looking for it. Even in Patong, it is limited to a few areas.
I still find Kata to be my favorite part of Phuket for quality of beach and the locals seem a lot more relaxed and friendly . You can access all the "delights" of Patong if you want by a short Taxi ride, but you certainly dont have to go there.
