Default non credit card / deposit hotel booking in Phuket

i am hoping you can reccommend a site with no booking deposit or no credit card nomination please...or even a hotel which just takes your name..works elsewhere ,but apparently not common in Thailand.
Just really don't want to use credit card mainly...
regards MissP

Hi there, We are staying at Swiss Palm Beach Hotel in Phuket for 2 months, we booked via email and then paid a small deposit to their bank account via westpac bank. The balance is apid when we arrive there.
Thier info is on my pages below. So there are places that you can book like this, just a matter of finding them.

Its all apartments there, we are in a one bedroom one, we had a look last year and couldnt believe how nice they were, considering they are so cheap.

Thailand Sun Book direct

If you book directly with most hotels (rather than reservations / travel agents) they normally will simply want your passport or credit card details (but not charge you). So find the hotel you want first, then find their direct / own web site and enquire that way.

Miss P,
asiatravel usually offer two types of booking - one type you pay the whole cost of the booking to asiatravel in advance via c/c and the other you pay the hotel on checkout (although you still have to submit your c/c to asiatravel via website when you make booking but they won't access it unless you don't turn up, in which case there will be some charge).
For Bangkok, I know of hotels/apartments that don't ask for c/c when booking via phone.
