We are due to travel to Phuket on 9 Dec and were wondering whether anyone knew of the possibility of actually getting there? Even tho the Bangkok airports are stil shut, would it be likely we could still fly out, diverting to other airports apart from BKK? Nobody is giving us answers and we would like to plan our trip as we are taking our 2 yr old who is looking forward to it (as well as us!)

It must nerve racking waiting for news about the situation in Thailand.I guess you have no choice and it's a matter of waiting and keep in contact with your airline. I know, I'm no help... sorry!

I've just read this report:

My guess (and it it a guess) that after reading that link aircrafts may be redirected to other airports for a while until the airport is up and running again.

just fly straight to phuket, jet star flies straight there if u r in australia; u dont have to go thru bangkok

Phukt irport, Chiang Mai Airport, Utapao Airport (close to Bangkok) are open for all international Airlines

Please recheck with your Airline whick Airport will they use.
