Depends where you are staying in BKK. I would blow the budget and go where they have a really good spa so that you can just catch the lift and spend all day cocooned in luxury. They do it so well and if youve been ill what better way to recuperate.
Take care.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Jaxw! These things are sent to try us .....but very good as a conversation topic when you get back home! Adventures and mishaps are hard at the time but usually more memorable than uneventful holidays. Chin up!

I was upset to hear that you are in hospital, for some one who loves there hols like me it sadens me to think what your going through.
Hope you get well soon.

I had a similar experience years ago in Bangkok when I got a very nasty pneumonia-like pulminory infection and spent a couple of nights in the Bangkok Christian Hospital in Silom Road on a drip!
It's so cruel when that happens on hols. Hope you are on the mend and will be back to your usual vibrant self before too long.
Be careful in Bkk with all the air conditioning ...
With regards to pampering, not sure where you are staying but the Tantara Spa at the Pathumwan Princess hotel is divine and although expensive by Thai standards, it's not crazy like the Oriental or Peninsula spas.
