Thumbs up Adelaidian Girl

Firstly hi to everyone. I am very new at this so here goes.
I am sooo excited my sis and I are off to Phuket at the end of July.
We are so lucky cos our very strange husbands dont want to go. Can you believe that! So SHOP SHOP SHOP and oh yeah Thai food YUM!!
We have had many trips to Bali but not to Phuket so cant wait. 9 weeks to go and my case is half packed.
Our only concern is the rain. Is it going to be really wet when we go or like other holidays a down pour and stop for awhile.
We will have a great time anyway but markets are so much better if they arent drenched!!
Any advise about anything will be greatly appreciated as we really dont know what to expect.
I love hot weather and the asian lifestyle and the people, so it cant come quick enough.
Looking forward to your ideas Oh yeah I have two girl grandchildren 6&8 Do they have name brand shops like ROXY They have put in their orders.

You should have no problem in finding lots of goodies for your grandchildren. Especially girls stuff. Roxy, Hurley, Fox, Von Dutch, Vans, Academiks, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nike, Hello Kitty etc. are often all over the place. I'm sure you'll find an overwhelming abundance of girl souvenirs.

Well, who's a lucky girl then?

You will adore Phuket and all it has to offer. There is shopping galore with all the brands as mentioned below and more. Makre sure you check out the night market. If you get stuck finding it ask someone (it's near Patong Merlin Hotel).

As for the rain, we didn't strike that much at all in fact I believe that we only scored a couple of night showers and as you said, pours one minute and fines up the next.

Enjoy!

Talking Cant Wait

Thanks heaps for the info.
I will keep reading and pickup other hints along the way.
Is it a good trip to PhiPhi for the day or is there a better suggestion.
Saw the ferry went up in flames the other day so not sure if it is wise!

Adelaidean Girl, from another Adelaidean girl.

You will find heaps of copy gear for the girls, all the name brands are there. If you get time in between shopping theres also lots of good things to see and do. Have a look at my Phuket website, theres also a shopping price guide with heaps of photos of things to buy like handbags haha.

Hi Judith, We only stayed in KL for 3 days last year, so it wasnt for long, to me it was a mixture of Singapore and Bangkok. The shopping was ok and the food great. We did one tour which was to the Batu Caves, Selangor Factory etc and was worth going to.
After that small taste of KL, Im not sure if I would go back for longer. (But absolutely love Singapore)
