Im planning to be in Thailand in a few weeks and am kinda concerned with the political unrest going on there. Are there any major issues with regards to travel (ground transportation only) into and out of Bangkok? My main goal for this trip is climbing and I don't think Ill have any issues once I am in Tonsai but not sure about in between. Also does any one know of any issues I would have getting into Malaysia? Would it be worth flying in to Malaysia and heading north to the border? Also, I will most likely be going solo, huge issue? Am I over reacting?

We arrived in Bangkok Tuesday night - plan to be out and about tomorrow so will post info here afterwards.

You won't know anything's happening when you're at Tonsai. It would certainly be worth flying into Malaysia, either KL or Penang, and going to Krabi via HatYai, actually it's a far nicer trip than doing it down from BKK.

Nah, none I can think of, as long as you documents are in order it'll be plain sailing. head for HatYai, maybe have a night there (good food and good shopping) and take a van to Krabi next day, it's a scenic trip, I done it countless times and always enjoy it.
