Default Travel in October

Hi. I am planning a trip in October to perhaps Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi or similar. There may be several of us there. We are interested in snorkelling, diving, kayaking, relaxing, etc. My concern is the weather during October. Just how wet is it then? Have any of you forum members been to these places in October? Is it a bad time to travel. I have had so many varying opinions about it, mostly from people who have never been there at that time of year :)

We also have considered hiring a car in Bangkok and driving down to krabi or Phuket, sightseeing on the way. Again the weather in October is an issue. Any suggestions? I hope someone has :))

Thanks, Cary

Default Holiday in October

Anytime of the year is good time for travel to thailand.

In October Phuket might just have a good short rain every afternoon.

Not particularly good for diving around Phuket.

I would save going to Phi Phi Island until between December and April as the water will not be very clear in October.

Have a good holiday.....

Weather is unpredictable!! Can you tell me if it will be wet in the UK in July please, I might have to go there to see family.

It's *supposed* to be OK on Ko Samui at this time of year and it's been bucketing down for days by all accounts. I've been on the Andaman coast several times in October...some years it's good, some years it isn't. Usually it's very bearable. Plus you do get low season rates till November 1st.

I must agree about the weather being very unpredictable. Usually when it rains in Bangkok, it rains very heavily for a bit, then stops altogether for the day. But lately, its been drizzling just about all day!

We were in Phuket last October.Rained quite a bit but usually only from about 4-5pm.Daytime was sunny and warm.Weather didn't stop us doing anything we wanted.Usually by the time the rain started we were quite happy to sit in a pub/resturant and watch the world go by.

Phuket, krabi is always better in december, jan onwards. It might not be raining but the waters be rough and not very suitable for snorkelling ir diving.

When the weather and water is good...

Have fun

July is one of our main summer month so should be ok. Will be warm (possibly around 65F upwards) but may bot always be dry!
