Default Koh Samui - Amari - Baby-elephant

Hi all, 19 days to Thailand here we come
we are this year starting our trip at Kata Beach, Phuket, continuing to Hua Hin, then to Koh Samui and end up in Chiang Mai.
Two years ago, Koh Samui, I remember a man came down to the beach at Amari to give his elephant baby food and a bath. Anyone here that knows if he is still doing this?
Are still trying to figure out where to stay in Koh Samui,...enjoyed the business Chaweng, but found part of the beach not too good for swimming...and need somewhere kids-friendly for our two at 4 and 7.

there used to be a baby elephant that belonged to the blue lagoon it was called bang. I don't think that it is there now.
the other side of chewang beach is a lot better for the water and ok to swim we looked at some small bungalows called chewang resorotel or something similar. I think that they may have been munchies at one time any how they are next to poppies and we liked the look of them.
We found this time that there were also loads of sea lice in the shallow water.
hope this helps and enjoy!

Hey

didn’t see any baby elephant ( or 'le phant' as we found Thai people call them!) when we were there...

We stayed at Banana fan sea in Chewang- can Highly recommend. Not the cheapest of places but great accommodation ON the beach. wonderful staff- cannot say enough good stuff about this place.
WONDERFUL!
