Wink Another Newbie here !!!!!

Hi everyone from 2 kiwis in New Zealand. We are coming to Phuket in August for 10 days and then to Bangkok for 3 days. Cant wait for the time to go - wish it would hurry up. I want to do lots of bag and shoe shopping for myself and 3 daughters and 4 grandaughters. The grandsons are also putting their orders in for 'named' shirts and shorts.
Can anyone advise where we buy an adaptor fromto charge phone & camera? Do we purhase prior to leaving NZ or when we arrive in Phuket?
Cheers and many thankx
Bev & Barry

Thumbs up Bev / Barry

You will find everything you need in Phuket, for sure.

Shopping - GO TO PHUKET TOWN, resist ALL urges to buy anywhere else. There is the Ocean Department store in Phuket town (two next to each other) and tons of tshirt places right outside. The prices and range here is much better than in the tourist areas. Also, suggest you go to the market, go over the roundabout with the water fountain, wlak down there (there is a great Thai craft shop on the left hand side when you get about 2/3 the way down) - I suggest you actually turn left there, then have a look along the street this brings you onto (great artists shop down the bottom, another very good crafts shop at the top). Do not forget also to go to the new Central Department Store, plus you can often find some really useful stuff at Tesco Lotus (they have a spearate area for stall holders and other shops and you can often find great stuff there) AND I swear by the jewellers attached to Tesco - it is on the outside, the other end from the internal stall / small shops area of Tescos.

But Bangkok is where you get the real goods at an even lower price!

Make sure you take plenty of bags!

Hi there. Thanks sooooo much for your info. I am intending on buying handbags (the good fakes) so we are taking 2 virtually empty suitcases (Barry doesnt know that yet !!!!!) I just hope we get loads of sunshine and I can return home to NZ with a bit of colour whilst all the others here will be lily white.
Cheers and regards
Bev

MBK in Bangkok you will find everything you are looking for, especially shoes and handbags. The best thing about MBK is it has a link directly from the BTS (National Staduim) stop. When you get off the 1st walkway will take you into Toyko Department store and then yuou need to get out of that into MBK itself. Taking the 2nd walkway you will go right into MBK and a good money exchange for your $NZ (that was the one we found the best rate with).
