Default Kanchanaburi to Jomtien

Hello all,
The itinerary for our September trip is starting to take shape.
We're taking a friend who's never been to Thailand before so we're spending time in a few places.
We will travel Bkk-Kanchanaburi and then head from there to Jomtien.
We'll have all our luggage with us so don't need to stop in Bangkok. Can anyone advise our options for doing this and perhaps recommend a company or driver?
How long would this trip take?

Thanks,
kimbo

Depending on the traffic Kan-Jom would take around 5hrs, give or take a bit. Also insist your driver takes the tollways, this will cost a tad more. I can't recommend companies or drivers but you can always charter a taxi. I have no idea what prices are these days since the high fuel increases.
There are of course AV tour buses & minibuses from Kan' - worth checking out also.

Thanks for that BobMac,
Seeing we'll have all our luggage with us, I think the bus might not be such a good idea.
Perhaps a minivan or 4 wheel drive might be a good choice. I'll do a bit of googling and see what I can find.
Cheers, Kimbo

You don't say how many in your group, if only 2 or 3 or 4 people a taxi charter would be ideal. If a few more than that you could charter a minivan, either way you'll have enough space. It's not necessary to arrange these charters too far in advance, usually a day before is adequate. Could arrange it via your hotel reception or get a motorcycle taxi guy to take you to the taxi stand/minibus que. I'd ask around a bit first to get a ballpark figure of the charter cost, which would change weekly due to fuel increases.
