Default Going to bangkok

Hi, I have been having some dental problems for while but I hate going . Well I finally went last week and the bill was going to be almost 7000 dollars with my insurance only paying 2900 hundred. My husband said go to bangkok and before I could think about it. I booked the airfare on the weekend. I leave june 7th for 2 and half weeks. My quote from BIDC is only 1700 hundred with my insurance saying if all the paper work is filled out right they will cover the bill. My first time traveling by my self. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed. I will do a dental jrb if anyone wants me to.OK enough rambling.

Thanks, Cindy

Cindy, read a post by Bobmac recently on some dental work he had done. You just need to make sure that the quote you have covers EVERYTHING, as he had a quote and had some work done and then total bill ended up being much higher with all the extras tacked on.

I believe the quality of dental work in Thailand is top class. My travel agent has just started doing special "dental holidays" to Thailand, where all your treatments are organised and then you have some "r and r" time afterwards. On my recent trip, my friend had her teeth laser whitened in Patong for about one third the cost it would be here, and the quality of the procedure and the dentist could not be faltered. She was just not warned of the pain involved!!! I asked at the same clinic about teeth implants as I need 2 of them and the cost was about $2000AUD whereas here they are about $5000-$6000 each.

So ... just make 100% certain that your quote is the total cost involved. Just do a search of "dental work" and you should find Bobmac's post.

Kitty

PS Bobmacs post is actually in one of my threads called 3 weeks in paradise the good the bad and the ugly. Just do a search under dental work and you will find it. You should read it Cindy. I dont mean to scare or alarm you, but as Bob says you just need to be sure you know what the total cost will be.

Default dentists < Bangkok

My husband goes to Bangkok twice a year for dental work. As well as a nice break, the costs he saves are stupenduous and the dentist is top class.

Yes, I'd agree that dental treatment in Bangkok is of a high standard.

I've been going to a Bangkok dentist for about 5 years now and I usually pay her a visit whenever I'm there.
I've had a range of treatments from fillings to veneers - all very cheap compared to prices back home.
I've been very happy and when I chipped one of my new fillings, it was replaced free of charge.

You can have dental work done at the private hospitals as well as dental cliinics.

Default dental work

Thanks every one for the info. I hope every thing Will be alright, just a bit scared to travel all that way by my self. Husband needs to stay home with the teenage children. They have school finals and the older one also has provincial exams. I'm a bit of a baby also when it comes to dental work. I need bridge and crown work pulse minor gum surgery. This is what I have been told here in Canada. It might be different story in bangkok. Well thanks for listening

Cindy
