Default Driver recommendations

Hi guys, 1st post here but I've really enjoyed reading a lot of the threads & the info has been great.

What I'm looking for is a recommendation for a driver in Bangkok who has a mini van (4 adults, 1 infant + luggage) for airport transfers as well as maybe a full day trip to the floating market, River Kwai & Tiger temple. I've found loads of sites that have airport picks ups & different sites that have guided tours but I thought it would be better & hopefully cheaper to have 1 driver & van for the whole thing. It would be good to have a driver we could get to know a little & trust (have done this in Bali & still keep in contact) Also we could go at our own pace rather than a planned fast paced tour with other tourists.
I've been recommended a driver in Phuket who I've e-mailed to arrange the pick ups but thought it may be good to look at this possibility in Bangkok.

If anyone else has done this & has a contact for a driver I'd appreciate it. (please only genuine recommendations & not touts).
Conversely, if we decide to do an organised guided tour to the market, temple etc can anyone please give me an idea of how much these cost when booked in Bangkok & the best place to do it. The websites seem to be about $100aud which I thought seemed a bit much.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try this web-site....tourwithtong.com. She is really popular,so you need to book well in advance to get her. I have not used her but know a few people that have and she is highly recommended.

Yes Tong is very good. If you cannot get her then the following are highly recommended

Ratt www.ratservice.com E-Mail at bkk@yahoo.com or bkk@hotmail.com
Note that Ratt while not a licensed guide is very knowledgable

Julie Taxi Home Page

For the places you want to visit it will be a long day (12 hrs +) and cost around 4000-5000 baht with the cost of gas now. But well worth it.
