Hey everyone just back from Thailand again after 1 month, spent10days at Railay beach,and most of the rest on Koh Phangan with a few days at my daughters grandmothers house in Surat Thani. I love Phangan even though it gets a bad name form the full moon party there is much more to the island than that.This time I stayed up north at the fishing village of Chaloklam and also at Haad Yao one of my favorite places in Thailand.
Chaloklam was great it is the main fishing villiage on the island and still has the old style buildings much like Bophut on Samui.Stayed at Chaloklam Bay resort which was fantastic,the owners have been looking after travellers since the first backpackers came to the island, the area here is really lovely and a great setting, the villiage is great to just sit around and watch thai life.
At Haad Yao I stayed at Bayview Resort where i have known the owners for 15 years since it was a backpackers place in the early nineties.Now its just newly rebuilt with fantastic looking thai style wooden rooms and ambience and great view accross the bay and beach.
