I am looking for some suggestions for a good hotel in Pattaya to stay at with my teenage daughter.

December 27th for 7 nights.

Nice clean place with aircon and hot water breakfast and a nice pool.

I am used to Indonesia (Bali) where I can get a good place for AUD $50 per night something similar would be good.

I can't recommend anywhere to stay in Pattaya as we are heading there ourselves for the first time in October.
If you have a look at asiarooms their hotels start from $23AU per room... then do some homework on reviews.
However, travelling with your 16 year old you'd have to pick wisely as Pattaya has a bit of a rep. You might like to check out the web site Pattaya talk to get some ideas.
Even at my age and I'm very broad minded there are times when I have questioned my decision of going to Pattaya. However, we iz booked so we iz going.

HI there, we have been to Pattaya once before and are heading back there again this August for a month. We are taking our 4 children.

As you are taking your daughter, I would keep away from the hotels in central pattaya (unless you book the Hard Rock, but I think that is out of your budget).

You could try somewhere in Jomtien or North Pattaya. Considering your budget, I would choose very carefully .. you don't want to be in a place that is "girlfriend/guest" friendly.

Friends (in their 50's) just came back from staying at Cabbages and Condoms and were very impressed, said it was brilliant and excellent value, I am not sure what their rates are.

Apartments are very popular in Pattaya. Have you thought about booking one of these? Just do a search online. View Talay is a good start when searching.

You are going at a very busy time, so the earlier you book the better.

I'd agree with previous posters about not staying in Central Pattaya - I think South Pattaya/Jomtien or North Pattaya would be better options, esp. seeing you're taking a teenager.
You can always go into the centre but don't have to stay there.

At that time of the year, you might get some good deals in the 2000-2500 baht range.
For South Pattaya, you could try Cosy Beach hotel. It's probably a 3 star, but deluxe seaview rooms have balcony with chairs (and of course a seaview across to an island).
At certain times of the year Dec-Feb especially), this hotel is crowded (over-run) with European tour groups and you won't get by the pool unless you reserve your spot at 6am (!!!) but June - July should be ok.

Check out the superior rooms at Woodlands Resort in North Pattaya . Although a more upmarket hotel, they have specials at off-peak times. Superior rooms are in a garden setting around the back pool and garden - nice and almost the same design as the deluxe rooms by the front pool). This hotel is not too far north like some of the other beachfront ones in North Pattaya, has a good restaurant, nice breakfast buffet and a fab coffee shop near the entrance.


Both of these places can be booked on various internet sites.... sawadee, wired-destinations, asiarooms, asiatravel etc. I've used all of these booking services with no problems.

Ooops, sorry Enpi, just rereadyour post and see that I misunderstood your travel dates.

Late December would be peak season and you won't get Woodlands for the price range I mentioned (more like 3000-3500 at that time. Cosy Beach will be busy and therefore no good if you can't get around the pool - when WILL hotels stop guests from 'reserving ' sunbeds with towels and then disappearing for hours ????????????
Pattaya is very popular with European tour groups so lots of places will be busy/full.

You could check out some internet booking sites and get an idea of prices and locations and then ask on here if anyone can comment on particular hotels.

Have a look at the new Mercure Hotel. This might be good for you both.

It's getting pretty good reviews and very reasonably priced.
