Default long flights

Do you happen to have a good advice on what to do on a long flight? Like one from Madrid to New Delhi?

Dont drink or you will feel like ****!

That flight isnt that long really,I like many others used to fly from Australia to the U.K and back but now you couldnt pay me to do that flight unless I had at least 2 stop overs each way!

8 hours is now my limit and Australia to Thailand just happens to be within my limit. I have been wanting to go back to the States for a few years but cant bring myself to fly that distance and cope with the time change, around 12 hours behind Perth time makes it a horror flight.

Watch all the movies and walk up and down to the toilets a lot.
Order special requirment food and you will get fed first.
Wear slip on shoes, but dont go to the toilet in your socks.
Get an isle seat so you can stretch out your legs.
Give up smoking before you go.

Carry an iPod or MP3 player loaded up with your favorite music, carry a good novel or buy a couple of magazines that interest you (I also get the latest computer mags at Perth airport) and if you feel like it drop a couple of downers to chill out and nod off.

Setting your watch at the time it is at your destination sometimes helps minimize jetlag. Try and eat and sleep according to the time on your watch, not the time it was back home.

Book an aisle seat so that you can get up and walk about without disturbing the people next to you. Newbies tend to want window seats but cameras and interactive TV screens mean you can "look out the window" wherever you're sitting.

another tidbit--if you don't have foot rests, make one with small bag to raise your heels above the floor. This will vary the knee position for most people. If you can snag an etra pillow or blanket, roll it to put behind the knees--or use an item of your clothing, like a sweater or hoodie.
