Bangkok Hotel.Not sure on the area.

Hello,
First i would like to say Hi All

.
Ive been traveling to Thailand since 1997 every year & sometimes twice or even 3 times a year.I love the areas of Issan in the North East.
Im flying out soon & plan on staying a few days in Bangkok & found a hotel that suits my budget & family requirements(2 young children).
But im not familer with the area? Ekamai Soi 12, Sukhumvit Road, Prakanong Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110.I didnt want to stay in the centre due to Songkran.& this hotel is only a 30 minute drive from the new airport.So if anyone could be so kind & give me any info on this part of Bangkok i would be very gratfull.

Soi Ekkamai (Sukhumvit Soi 63) is quite a busy road but some of the sois off it have a refreshingly village-like atmosphere. Many of the lanes are too narrow for cars so kids play football in the street. A world away from the main tourist drag on lower Sukhumvit. Can't remember 100% but I think Ekkamai Soi 12 is a fair way down... it's a bit far to walk to the nearest BTS station. There's a frequent local bus service that can get you there though.

The hotel has a free mini-Bus till 18.00Hrs to the nearest BST station which they say is a 10 minute drive away.The idea of kids playing football in the streets & that village feel sounds just great.

Thanks. Did not know of any place out that way . Now I know. But it does seem out of the way for most tourists. Good ii you have to overnight and want to be fairly close to the airport
