Default dvds and Australian Customs

Has anyone ever been pulled up by Australian Customs for bringing back dvd's from Thailand?

Default I think they more or less

turn a blind eye if they are for personal viewing. If you have muliple copies of the same movie they will more than likely take them as they will get the idea that you are selling them for a profit. Best idea is to put some in each suitcase you bring back so that it doesn't look like you have so many.

We always come back with at least 100, one trip it was close to 200, never had a problem, we buy the dvd folders from the cheapy shops here cost $5 and holds 90. That way they dont take up any room.

I have always found a lot of Thai DVD copies are a bit pot luck and not quite as good as Bali copies,so I dont even bother anymore.

We have just returned from Bali with DVD's and it wasn't a problem, nor was it a problem when we returned from Thailand last October.
You are not asked to declare them... so we didn't. We had them in our hand luggage which was x-rayed on arrival and no worries.

Never had a problem with DVD's and Cd's coming from Thailand or Bali.As said previously i reckon there might be a problem if you were bringing multiples of any given item.
Cheers laurs

Just got back yesterday with about 110 dvd's in my suitcase and no probs at all, either at Bangkok or Sydney airports. When I came back from Vietnam 2 years ago I did however have probs, but was at HCMC airport and not at Sydney. I think Ive worked it out tho - if you stack them all on top of each other in your suitcase, then the xray cant really tell how many of them there are. I made the mistake in Vietnam of stacking them all around my suitcase, so when they xrayed it, it prob looked like I had thousands of them!!!
