Talking fishing

We will be in Phuket in October party of 7 adults 1child. The males in the party would like to go deep water fishing can anyone recommend a good company or should they pass on the idea altogether as I have read some comments regarding fishing trips being a waste of time and money.

Wink I did some Marlin

fishing off Phi Phi and no-one caught anything; we didn't even see anything. Well, I caught something that was big but the line broke; I do not think it was a marlin or other big fish, probably some other fisherman's failed expectations and ego

None off Ko Tao either ... I got dragged off on a big game fishing trip and only caught tiddlers. Waste of money, would have been much better spending my 1200B on a much needed spa treatment. I went night squid fishing recently though and caught some of them.

The only place I have seen black marlins, blue marlins (and 13m whales) in Thailand is the around Surin islands. It's a national park and big game fishing is prohibited there which probably explains why I saw them.

Default Fishing

One of our best days was Deep Sea Fishing, we caught 68 tuna and 1 dolphin fish, had the Marlin lines out but no luck. It was so much fun and we pulled in lots of double headers, I have done a big write up with a slide show of all the photos from the day below. (Tuna in Phuket though are no where near the same size as Aussie ones, though it was fun and they are good fighters)

You are so right Larry, Gary only likes Bintang (when in Bali) as well. Would be the perfect place if they had hehe
