Default Charoennakorn Rd hotels...

Hello everyone, we are arriving in Bangkok late at night on May 29th.
We need to book o'nite accomodation and according to the guide who is collecting us bright and early the next morning for a tour of the floating markets, the best place for us to get a hotel is on Charoennakorn Rd. (apparently less traffic jam)
All the ones I've found were 5 star and since we're only there to catch a couple of hours sleep I would prefer less than $100 per night aud.
Could anyone reccomend a cheaper 3 star or similar in this location?
Thanks and kind regards, Jodie

The Bossotel hotel comes highly recommended and is very resonable for a 3 star and it location where you want to be. It is around $45 for a std room or 51 for a superior. The hotel site is bossotel and the best rates on Asia Rooms

THe Bossotel is very good value but it is off Charoennakrung rd not Charoennakorn rd as requested. The 2 roads are on opposite sides of the river so I would presume that your guide has requested that particular road to aviod crossing the Saphan Taksin bridge which gets busy in the morning. THe Penn and the Marriott resort and Spa are the only 2 that I know on that road and they will both be alot more that 100Aus per night. I would tell the guide to leave a bit earlier so you could stay on the city side of the river as there is not much to do on the other side and it will be harder for you to get around.
