Default Reliable Transport in Patong

The name of the person who supplies the transport for us in Phuket is Nuch pronounced Nooch. Her and her husband Mai own the business and we have had Mai drive us but usually their friend Chot takes us out. Chot does not speak a lot of English but understands enough to take us where we want and usually if we are going to be a long time we just give him a rough estimate and sometimes he will wait or go home and we call his mobile when we want him to pick us up. He always lets us decide what suits us best. He is a very lovely man who is so gracious and has even tried to return tips that we have given him because he thinks that we have given him too much. If you hire him and you need something complicated that Chot does not understand, you can just call Nuch on her mobile and she will explain to Chot, as her English is very good. Last year they charged us 1000Baht per 8-9 hour day which was heaps cheaper than anyone else. I read on another forum that they now have a bigger van and the cost is 1500Baht per day but if you will only need to use the car I imagine that it would probably be around the 1000Baht mark, although it may have gone up slightly as that has been the price for the last 2 years. The mobile number for Nooch is 084-1134809 and her email is Kunthipc@thaimail.com. She charged us 700Baht last year to go from the airport to Kata and although you probably will pay a similar price from the metered taxi, I prefer to have someone I know and trust to collect us.
I'm sure that even if the price has gone up, Nuch will still be cheaper than others who have quoted us a higher price for less than half the time we have with Chot.

It really is nice when you find somebody who gives you excellent service for a fair price. Like you Michelle I've been lucky to find this sort of service sometimes, and needless to say, I stick with them. Yes prices will have increased a bit recently as the cost of gasoline is going through the roof.
