Hi Laura,
Long time since I saw a post from you. Someone will no doubt tell you about the weather in Samui but I have a feeling it might be a bit wet in September from what I read on other posts.
We are thinking of going back to the Kata Thani for 8 nights in October. They have changed their 2 for 1 offer and the best we could get was pay for 5 and stay 8. We really wanted to stay for a bit longer but we would have to pay full price for the rest and it's about $200 AUD per night, a bit too expensive and even though we really liked it, I don't think that it is worth that much. We are going to stay for 12 nights at the Twin Palms at Surin, can get a really good deal on it. We looked at it last time we went to Phuket and it was really nice. It's not right on the beach but is only a 2 minute walk or they will take you down in the buggy. They have a Beach Club which is really unique, besides all the normal sun beds they have set up a living room on the beach, nice little bit of luxury. There are heaps of other restaurants and bars on the beach and we wont have to keep paying for the dreaded tuk tuks. We are thinking of staying a week a bit further north, only a few minutes drive, at Bang Tao Beach in a beach front cabin which is only about a $100AUD per night, right on the sand and heaps of beach restaurants just like Surin has.
I liked Surin a lot, really beautiful beach, not at all crowded, really relaxing and you can be served with food and drink as you lie back and relax on your sun lounge. Pure Luxury and no one sitting on top of you in low season.
Well these are the intentions so far !! How long are you going for ?
Best Wishes
