Default Nightlife in Phi Phi

I am going to be in Phi Phi in a few weeks (March) and I was wondering if anyone had any nightlife reccomendations? I have been doing some research and it seems like most people are saying there is zero nightlife there. Are there any bars with a good crowd and good music?

We will be there for four nights so any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Whoever told you there was no nightlife on Phi-Phi obviously hasn't been to Tonsai as there is heaps of nightlife on that part of the Island. This is the main ferry terminal and most developed area and it is where you should stay if you want nightlife. The beaches are better on the other side but it is still nice and a 10 minute longtail boat trip will take you to Long Beach which is beautiful. We stayed just out of Tonsai last November but we were still walking distance to many great bars. We travel with kids, so a late night for us is midnight, but I did see people still coming home from the Apache Bar and the Reggae Bar at 7am when I was going for a run. The bar I really liked was Carpe Diem which was right on the beach, had fire shows nightly at 11pm and played some great chill out music. I am sure that it stayed open quite late as it was always packed when we left after the fireshow and many punters were just arriving.

Thanks! That is a relief! Were actually staying at Phi Phi Island Village which I think is a little ways away from Tonsai. Do you think we will have a hard time finding a ride (or longtail) back late at night?

The whole strip is one big bar, just follow the sound and you'll be ok.

PPIV is on a very beautiful but remote part of the Island. A longtail trip will be the only way to get to Tonsai as the walk would take about an hour across a mountain. I think you would get a longtail ride late at night but they would charge alot. You could wait till dawn and get a cheaper price or, if the nightlife is a major part of your time, change hotels, or find someoene to bed down with in Tonsai.
