Default Is it really stupid to wait to book a hotel until I arrive?

I am arriving Feb 24th, and I have hotels booked for the first week of my stay. I'd like to rent a car when I arrive, drive the island (and the mainland just north of the island), and decide where to spend my second week. Am I crazy to think there will be rooms available so close to my intended stay, during high season? Thanks for your opinion! Detailed response not necessary - simply yes (meaning yes I am crazy to consider waiting) or no (I have a decent chance to get a room) would be great!

You did not say where you are going? I suppose it is Phuket? If so you will have no problem driving arriving and looking for your next room unless perhaps if you are very particular. Enjoy

You should have no problems just touring around and finding good accomodation. I am not sure which island you are staying on, but accomodation is always available, even in the manic high season period (which you are just missing).

Exclamation Personally

I would book the first night only somewhere.
