Default Multitasking

In October I was invited to a Thai Wedding party by a close friend of mine on Koh Chang. Both the bride and groom were from prominent Thai families so it was a pretty big event(even though I was the only farang among over a thousand attendees). Anyway, on the way back we encountered this girl just poking out of the jungle onto the roadway. I jumped out of the truck and pulled her out for this photo.

The following day at dusk, on the way back from trekking in the jungle, we spotted a large cobra doing the same thing. I grabbed my snake hook but couldn't get that one turned around in time before it jetted off into the impenetrable jungle.

Now the disclaimer:
Please do not try this at home(or on vacation). These activities should only be attempted by trained professionals. Respect the jungle and the flora and fauna contained within. If you are unsure, leave it alone. All animals, venomous or not, were released far away from people or human structure mostly for their own well-being. Most Thais and farang perceive all snakes as a threat will kill them on sight.

BTW, I am looking for travel companions for my upcoming trip

You sound like you'd be a handy kind of travel companion to have around. Discovered a king cobra on the floor in my hut on Ko Phayam last year when I got up for a pee in the night, but being a wimp stood on the bed and shooed it out with the light from my torch rather than fondling it.

Those snakes in the second picture look like rather large sea kraits???... I've only once seen one out of the sea though.... baby one on a beach on an island off Bandaneira (Indonesia)

You obviiously know what you are about Atheris.I would say you have handled a few snakes in your time. You look so comfortable with them.
Had a bit of a chuckle at you warning--Do not think that there is any fear of the punters on this site going within cooeee of any wild beasties
Cheers laurs

They aren't always dangerous Jax--mainly just pests.
