Smile To Phuket or not to phuket?

Hi, Il be travelling thailand. Il be hoping to take in as much as possible before I head off to Malaysia, KL. Heading down from BKK to Samui and Panghan, then moochin over to Krabi and Phi Phi, just wondering if Phuket is worth seeing after ive seen the other islands?
Il really only be going to phuket to get the international flight out, but as all travellers, Im on a budget!

Cheers

Hi Jimbo
My feelings have always been that if I have to go to a certain place in order to catch transport that i may as well take a bit of time there and look around.
There is certainly a lot to see and do in Phuket culture/scenic /fun.
Shouldn't break your budget either as there are places to stay to suit every pocket.
Have a great time.
Cheers laurs

If you have been to Samui (which I think is quite similar to phuket) and then to the quieter and more peaceful beach areas of Phi Phi and Krabi then there will not be much you would not have seen in Phuket. Perhaps you could spend a day or 2 at most, look around and shop before you catch you flight back.

enjoy

lovely phi phi

peaceful krabi

Kata is lay back for the last two days. Patong is noisy, but ok, to do some shopping, there are even movie theaters!

But it is important to read a bit this forum, and see what kind of things you like! I made a post about a little trip I did with the bike from Kata here.

Phuket is an island where every beach has his own athmosphere! From the noisy Patong with bar area, to the luxury Laguna, the family orientated Kata and some more remoted, paradise feeling beaches...
