Cool Hubby wants to snorkel

HI
Can anybody tell me if there is any snorkeling just off the beach at Railey and AO Nang or do you have to go to the other islands.

Thanks for your advise in advance.

At krabi, I have gone for a snorkelling trip to chicken island or Poda island and a little further at Hong island.

From what I know Railay and Ao nang are not places you would choose to snorkel, more places to relax on the sand and enjoy the sea.

Ao nang beach

enjoy your holiday
Railay beach

Yes there's not much snorkelling off the beach at Railey at all....plus there are too many longtail boats there to make swimming very pleasant (or safe). I didn't think the islands around there that great either, though there is a bit of snorkelling off them. They get rather crowded with day trippers....

If you want snorkelling off the beach it's better to go further south. Depending on the season, Ko Tao (if you're going during the European summer) or the Trang islands or Ko Lipe maybe if you're going during the winter.

Exclamation I've said it before

and I am saying it again; Pee Pee Island Village has good off beach snorkelling and is in the main tourist area.

Hi..
If you get a chance to get to Bamboo Island just of the north of Koh Phi Phi , the snorkelling is amazing. Large amount of Moray eels.
