Default Phuket family accommodation

We are travelling to Thailand sometime in April as my wife's brother is working in Bangkok. We will probably have two or three nights there and then thought of 10 or so nights in Phuket.

My question is could anyone recommend accommodation in Phuket for our family of four - 2 adults and 2 girls 14 and 11 years old that wont cost us a bucket. We are really looking for something clean and with a pool but it doesnt have to be the Ritz!

Any suggestions

Thank you in anticipation

Centara Kata Resort is a a family friendly hotel and the rate is reasonable. Deevana Patong resort could also be your other option and it's near all the actions ... anyway, have a nice holiday , wherever you will be staying !

THe trouble you will will have with most of the moderately priced places is that you will have to take 2 rooms or a family room which will tend to be expensive. Our kids are 9 and 6 and we are starting to have trouble finding rooms that will accomadate all of us. We just came back from AO Nang, which we loved as it reminded us of Patong 15 years ago, and we stayed at the Somkiet Buri in a deluxe triple room which was huge and had a queen bed as well as a large single. If you are flexible in your plans, have a look at Ao nang as it gives you great access to some fantastic Islands, daytrips, and has plenty going for it. The somkiet buri is a fantastic place, really great value for money. Have a look at sawadee dot com for reviews on this property as well as plenty of Phuket options.

Thank you. I will look at these places, but some seem to say that in even a family room the maximum number is three people.

Oh well, Ill keep looking!

Thanks for your help

Lightbulb Yes, it IS hard!

We are a family also wishing to travel to Phuket in May. Accom for us is also difficult ( two daughters 8 and 13 ) A few hotels that allow tripple share will allow you to add aroll away bed for a child under 12 but you need to pay for your 14 year old as an adult to do this.( strangely they seem to have more of a problem, accepting more than one child per room, than they do with the actual number of occupants. Rather odd! One that will allow 2 adults and 2 kids your childrens age is the Holiday Inn Phuket. Booking through Agoda, Asia rooms, or Sawasdee probably your best bet but still somewhat expensive. We have decided to book @ the last minute and t try for a wotif deal or similar. We found that even though some web addresses don't tell you 4 to a room is possible, upon direct enquiry, it is. We don't so much have a problem with the price of 2 rooms, Just that we'd like our young daughters to stay in the same room as us for security and peace of mind. Also try some 2 bedroom serviced apartment Bangkok and Phuket full of them according to Kimbo's posts and threads. All the best, if you book else where, let us know! Might be helpful. Happy travels!

Have a look at Swiss Palm Beach Hotel, the rooms are all apartments, a 2 bedroom apartment in April is about $120 a night. I took lots of photos of some of their apartments, the link is below.

We are staying there for 3 months soon, the hotel is in a great location, opposite Gracelands, close to restaurants, atms, shopping etc. There is a swim up pool bar.

We have stayed there before and out of all the hotels we have stayed in before in Phuket, this one was the most friendliest, rooms are great as you have plenty of room.

Default We found it!

We found the Pacific Boutique Resort and Spa at Karon Beach. Great reviews on Tripadvisor and a good rate for the four of us in a two br apartment with great views including breakfast.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Hi

Have a look at the Patong Lodge hotel website- we have stayed there and liked it- good sized pool and rooms are clean- getting a bit old but the breakfast is included and the rate is quite reasonable. Its a few minutes walk into Patong Beach but plenty of transport outside the hotel for a few dollars.

We a family of 4 have been to Phuket twice in the last 3 years. Both times we have stayed at The Residence, Kalim Bay. They offer large 2Br apartments with dining, living and large kitchen facilities. The feature is an enormous balcony with outstanding views across over the ocean. It has an excellent pool with a pool bar (no restaurant, but the excellent restaurant next door delivers all meals to room or poolside) as well as a mini-mart for all your goodies including snacks and alcohol. The accomodation here is extremely affordable, plenty of high quality restaurants within walh=king distance (incl Baan Rim Pa, Joes etc) - Patong is around a 10 min walk along a path adjacent to the beach or a cheap tuk-tuk ride.
