Thanks for your kind comments. We enjoyed our month in Pattaya very much. In fact, that's where we are heading back to again this August. This time staying in Jomtien. Last time we stayed in North Pattaya (Naklua).
As long as you are aware the sex industry is rife there, and in some areas quite "in your face" you will be fine.
We get left alone as we are a family and the Thais are so nice with the kids. But my husband would never venture out alone! :-)
There is not a lot of Thai culture in Pattaya, but it's a great place to shop, relax, eat. So much to do there, we find it's an easy place to live for a month, and so cheap.
For a nice meal, I would recommend the Art Cafe in North Pattaya. Also you could go to Koh Samet for an island stay for a night or two (the beaches in Pattaya are not that nice). You could also go to Tiffany's, Ripley's Believe it or Not, play golf, see the dolphins, excellent restaurants all over and not to forget the lovely massages.
Great people watching place :-)
We are really looking forward to going back and so are the kids. This year both sets of parents are coming out to join us .. my husbands parents came last time and they too enjoyed it enough to want to go back. So it can't be that bad :-)
