Somerset Lake Point was one of the apartment complexes I was going to recommend to you but Leo has already done that.I'd second those comments.

Members of my family ALWAYS stay there when they go to Bangkok and I've stayed there a couple of times - either in a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment. The apartments have full kitchens so you can cook if you want. Balconies (not all that common in Bangkok) are large at Somerset Lake Point.

This place is good for families as it has quite a lot of long-term residents so it's much less crowded than a lot of other places.

Can't remember offhand but think the 2 bedroom apartment would be betwen 2500 and 3000 baht a night.

There is a free 'on demand' tuktuk service to Emporium department store which adjoins the skytrain station, so quite easy to get around from this apartment complex.
