I live in CM & can say it isn't brilliant, but has already improved these last 2 days.
It isn't forest fires, though there are as ever some. It's mainly locals clearing arable land with fire, unfortunately they leave & it tends to spread. Also there is very little slash & burn now, it's all land which has been cultivated for some time, & as it's the dry season trees shed thier leaves & locals also clear their land/garden by burning this.
Poo yai Baan (village head) have been ordering locals to stop this practice in last few days.
This year is worse than usual as the night temp has been suprisingly cool & this contributes to haze.
We've had no rain since mid Oct, & as it's an EL NINO year possibly none till end of may (last year beginning Apr).
It will improve & I & friends are all going about our business as usual.
