I use ATM's as my primary source of baht whenever I am in Thailand. Have had no problems over the years but here's a few tips. Try to use ATM's that are located right outside their walk up windows or actual banks. This way, if for some reason your card gets eaten by the ATM, you just need to notify the person in the kiosk of your problem. Always have a stash of backup cold hard cash as an emergency fund if this happens and you cannot get your card back. ATM's are available all over the place so you should have no problem finding one anywhere. If you have an alternate source of money accessible by ATM (second account) it's always good to have that with you too or kept locked in your room safe for back up.
