There is a mad scene and of course the other side but even in chewang there is the scene on the beach at night that is chilled and then there are chilled out places like boput and so forth. The island is only small.
The beach at Karon was lovely and all the beaches on Samui are not the same. I know I would defo chose Samui over Hua Hin.
Will have to go there are some kids outside playing football next to car and I am going to go and disect them !! Email me if you want any info on Samui.
