Samui weather will not be good at that time so you probably would be better off on the other side - Phuket.
Denise who posts on these forums takes kids with her and has recently been to Phuket so if you look up some of her posts she could maybe advise you.
I am the wrong one to comment really as i am always looking for places that don't have kids LOL
