Yeh, if it happens again an you are on Phi Phi you are pretty much stuck. Best take a life jacket! You can always subscribe to that tsunami alerts (text to your mobile) service though. Bleep, bleep. Bleep, bleep, splash. Seriously though, you are fine in Thailand. The distance from the nearest fault line and the new emergency warning system allows the authorities plenty of time to get everyone to safety, as long as they are not under the table from brandy of course!
