we did floating markets, river kwai, war museum and railway, called into tiger temple(did not go in as we were talked out of it by our guide) and then 1 hr elephant treking beside river kwai all in one day from bangkok-left 7am and back 8.30 pm huge day but a great experience-only had 2 full days in bangkok-i shopping-1 sightseeing- fantastic. booked through the company who provided our airport transfers-paid 1300bt per person-we had a party of 12 and had one brand new airconditioned van to ourselves-great english speaking guide and fantastic lunch included. we didnt have time to haggle on the streets for a driver -this was the easiest option-tour initially consisted only of the floating markets and river kwai but guide and driver happy to take us anywhere else we wanted to go-paid an extra 400bt each for 1 hr elephant trek.
