Hi David, sorry not to get back to you sooner, was a way for bank holiday weekend and there was a problem with me posting yesterday, but looks to be ok now!
Anyway back to Kata Bhuri (katathani hotel), the rooms are even better in real life, the pictures are good but even better in the flesh.
Even tho the hotel is in 2 wings, all emenities ie pools etc are all for every guest no matter where your room is.
Kata thani is described as being secluded, its at the dead end of a road and very quiet but just 2 mins up the hill either tuk tuk or walk you are in kata and again 2 mins after kata you can be in karon (by tuk tuk). so at this hotel i believe you can have the best of both worlds, quiet evening if you wish or livelier if you wish too.
Is bang at the beach too, so no treking in the morning straight over the pool road and you are at the beach. The best on the island imop.
