Its worth joining though as if you use them enough you will get the benefits. You can get them from Sri Lankan airways as well and join them with your emirates miles.
What date do you fly out?
The leg from dubai to Bkk is always busy as it goes on to Hong Kong. The same goes for coming back BKK to dubai.
I personally think that the back side rows 46 - 48 where there are only 2 instead of three seats together are better.
You will be on an air bus for one of the legs so this will happen any way.
They are a good airline and the ICE system on the 777 in fantastic. Dubai airport is worth a look...get your credit card ready!
