Depends on your budget of course, but do check out the HK hotel prices carefully unless you get a cheaper package.Hotels are very expensive here, certainly compared to Thailand...European prices for small rooms.But all aircon ,unlike Europe!Very hot here over summer so pick one with a pool...taxis are cheap,and you can get travel deals for the train MTR system (very efficient)Not a cheap place to holiday overall though,and tourists mostly come here for shopping ,eating.
Not sure about 1-2-go flying in here...can't imagine how they could afford to...will check though .Thai is a good option but currently $3000 HK ret from here to Phuket ret....
