ill be arriving in Bangkok on the morning of the 23 December and will be backpacking through thailand and laos for 6 weeks. I'm travelling by myself and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions where to stay for the first few days since it will be christmas and i dont feel like celebrating by myself....i guess my options are bangkok or head on the first available bus to kanchanaburi?.. id like to meet up with other backpackers but am unsure where would be the best environment. Any suggestions on where to stay or info about events/attractions/things to do would be apreciated.
