Kata Noi Bay inn, opposite kata thani hotel. Small guest house (no pool). Just a reception bar/resturant. We looked around these rooms and they are great for their prices.
also there is one further along called kata pavilion, which is the same sort of room etc. (no pool), suppose you could always use the kata thanis pools. both are opposite the beach.
We have a thai friend called Roon whose grandfather owns the bungalow resturant at the end of the beach, up above in the rocks he has opened up rooms which look right over beach and sea, very nice but you have to hike up steep steps to get to your room. I think it is called c.tapkaew bungalow. There is a website for these rooms. very cheap and clean.
