Sukhumvit road ?

This will be my third trip to bkk and we are looking at the Bel Aire Princess.I will be traveling with my two young nieces ( nine and twelve) and I am worried about the hotel being so close to the gilrie bars.If most of the action is contained off the main street (as Patpong) that will be fine.Also what is in Sukhumvit road in the way of shopping and restaraunts?
