Phuket is not a Robinson island indeed. I know it for 17 years and it has changed a lot!

If you want a lovely beach, you got money, well look for Amanpuri and the hotel next to it (seafan before).

The Laguna, area has nice hotels, ON the beach. The dusit Laguna is compared to others not too big and very, very romantic. But you are staying on an island in a island!: This means it is upscale tourism, although very nice, not very authentic!

The Meridien, between Patong and Karon, is a big hotel, and for me look too much as a factory for tourists! There is nothing there then only that hotel. The dusit, is, if you have the means, is more romantic.

Anyway, stay away from Patong! It smells bad, it is a big city by the sea, and very, very crowded. Some people think it is fun, but I think more for people who wants a city by the sea, then a nice place away from home!

Karon, has not much to offer ON the beach. Kata, is not bad, but the standard of the two hotels on the beach is nothing tow write home about. The "boathouse", may be expensive, the time that they were secluded on the beach is for long gone!

I have seen on tv, a new place, white beach resort, wich is secluded too. I think it must be close to the airport, but maybe too far away from anything.

You can have much fun on Phuket, but it is crowded, the roads are very dangerous, but it still has nice spots, although more difficult to find.
